Anatomy of an Invitation Suite - Part 2

WELCOME BACK!

We’re on day 2 of our 3 part series! We’re chatting all there is to know about Invitation Suites and today we’re back to talk about RSVP cards and why these teeny tiny cards are so important. Even though it is the tiniest card in the invitation suite, it holds a ton of very helpful information! Again, there are lots of options for what to put on the card but not all of them may be necessary for your wedding specifically. The biggest thing to remember is to make it as easy as possible for your guests to RSVP to your wedding. Don’t over complicate it and leave them room to give you the information you need!

- Reply by Date: Ok so this one is a must no matter who you are. You need to know who will be attending your wedding by a specific date in order to let all your vendors know your final guest count. This is especially important for catering and rentals. I always recommend listing the reply by date a week before the actual deadline you’ve been given. In short, you’ll want the RSVP by date to be about 6 weeks before your wedding.

- Number of seats reserved: This is one of the components thats totally optional! But, I would say is super important if your venue has a capacity or you are trying to make sure you keep your budget in check. Each card will have a note near the top that reads, “We have reserved __ seats for your party” or something to that extent. Your guests will know right off the bat - “ok, this is an adult only ceremony” or “welp! no plus one for me.” It will help eliminate surprises when you go to make your final guest list.

- Names: One way or another, you need to know who’s RSVP card just came back to you. Having a simple line or space for them to write their names is essential! PRO TIP: Have an RSVP ID for each guest and write it on the back of the card just incase they forget to write their name!

- “Accept or Decline”: Get creative with this part! A simple “Yes” or “No,” “Accepts with pleasure” or “Declines with regret,” “Heck yes!” or “Sad to miss it”…it’s up to you! Just make sure there’s a space for your guests to let you know if they can attend or not.

- Meal selections: If you are having a buffet meal or preselected plate for every guest, a space to write allergies will do. However, if you have multiple options for guests to choose from, your venue will need these counts. Make sure you leave enough space for each guest to write their initials or name, not just a check mark!

THAT’S ALL FOR TODAY - SEE YOU TOMORROW FOR PART 3: DETAILS CARD!
